What this is

Trade Engine checks proposed NBA trades against the league's collective bargaining agreement and shows its work. It is a fan tool — it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the NBA, the NBPA, any team, or any player.
The legality verdict is produced by deterministic rules code. The "GM" conversation is generated by an AI model and is labeled judgment, not fact. Neither is legal, financial or professional advice, and nothing here is a statement about what any team will actually do.
The contract and roster data comes from third-party feeds plus our own hand-verified corrections. It can be wrong, late, or incomplete, and the app tries to say so where it knows. Verify anything that matters against an official source before you rely on it.

The free tier is free. Daily limits on GM conversations exist so the service stays up for everyone; the legality check has no limit.
Don't abuse it: no scraping at volume, no attempts to break the rate limits or other people's sessions, no posting other people's personal information in reports or share links.
Share links you mint are public to anyone who has the URL. Don't put anything in a trade note you wouldn't want seen.
We may change, pause or shut down features, and may remove content or close accounts that break these terms. We'll be honest about what changed.

An account is your email address plus a sign-in link. You're responsible for the inbox behind it.
Paid tiers, when they exist, will have their own terms shown before you pay. There is nothing to pay for today.

The service is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions made, bets placed, or arguments lost on the strength of a verdict.
